The Evolution of Product Cataloging 

Mapping products to the right marketplace categories has traditionally been a manual, rule-based process- relying heavily on predefined mappings. While effective, it often limits speed and accuracy at scale. 

We’re now moving toward a more advanced approach: Semantic Intelligence. By leveraging advanced AI, we’re enabling our platform to understand product data contextually, significantly improving both the accuracy and speed of category mapping across diverse marketplaces. 

The Strategy Behind the Shift 

To support more complex data processing alongside our existing scalable architecture, we are integrating advanced data processing capabilities capable of handling multi-dimensional product information. 

Instead of relying solely on exact keyword matches, our upgraded system analyses the contextual meaning of product data. This allows the platform to intelligently identify the closest and most relevant category matches across varying marketplace structures, even when the naming conventions differ. 

What This Means in Practice 

  • Contextual Matching: Product descriptions, metadata, and visual elements are analysed contextually, enabling highly accurate category alignment. 
  • Intelligent Refinement: Advanced language models help evaluate and narrow down the best category matches with high precision. 
  • Automated Attribution: We’re extending this intelligence to automatically extract and map core product attributes (like material, size, or fit), drastically reducing the need for manual data entry.
