As of February 2021, the Kogan Marketplace accepts shipping updates only for a Kogan approved list of shipping providers. The shipping provider names have to match exactly. This article outlines how to select the correct shipping providers in Maropost Commerce Cloud (neto) or how to map Maropost Commerce Cloud (neto) shipping providers to the correct Kogan ones.
On the Kogan app order diagnostics page, orders will be shown as having failed shipment updates:

In Maropost, shipping providers can be selected from a pre-defined list that are setup on aper-account basis. These shipping providers can be mapped on the settings page under Order Sync Settings:
When using a free-test shipping provider, it is necessary to match the chosen name in Maropost exactly to one of the Kogan supported shipping providers.
Some third-party integrations with Maropost (like Shippit), set the shipping provider to a specific text which does not match the shipping providers supported by Kogan.
This can be supported by defining custom rate cards in Maropost which map the third-party shipping provider to a shipping provider in Maropost Commerce Cloud (neto).
To do this, follow these steps to create a "rate table" with a name matching the "service" name seen on Shippit consignment notes.
For example: "Shipped via Couriers Please - Powered By Shippit".
Note that the point of this is not to create an actual rate schedule in Maropost but just a "container" for this service so that it can be mapped to a shipping service (Shippit) on Kogan's side.
This happens if you installed the Kogan App sometime ago and have not completed the setup.
For this error to be removed, you will need to uninstall the Kogan App and reinstall it.

Overview
The Kogan NZ addon allows you to sell products on kogan.com/nz/ while still taking advantage of Maropost powerful back end system for order management.
Orders placed on kogan.com/nz/ are downloaded into Maropost for processing. Once they are dispatched, Maropost ends the status back to your website so that customers are notified of fulfilment, and can track the delivery.
In addition, stock levels maintained in Maropost are automatically synced to kogan.com/nz/.

Connect Maropost to Kogan NZ
- In your Maropost control panel select the Addons menu.
- Locate the Kogan NZ addon in the Sales Channels section, and click the Install button.
- Confirm any additional costs by clicking the Install and Confirm button.
- This will redirect you to the Kogan NZ app to configure your setup.
- The Kogan NZ App is powered by CrescoData, so you will first need to accept their terms of service and privacy policies.

Product Settings
- Connection details - This information would have been provided by Kogan NZ, upon acceptance of your merchant account. If you do not have these details please contact your Kogan NZ account manager.
- Currency Conversion Mode - The NZD currency conversion rate to use from your Base Currency for products and orders. Leave empty to not perform any currency conversions when syncing product pricing.
- Base Currency - The base currency of your Maropost account. This will convert the NZD order amount into the selected base currency. If left <blank> then it will default to an AUD conversion. It will also convert product price if a Currency Conversion Mode is selected.
- Sync
- New Products & Attributes - Whether to allow new product creations & updating of existing product information such as category, descriptions, names, variants & other attributes from Maropost.
- Stock - Whether stock should be synced from Maropost.
- Prices - Whether prices should be synced from Maropost.
- Status - Whether to allow disabling SKUs on Kogan NZ when the SKU is Unapproved on Maropost.
- Categorisation Method - What Maropost product category should be used to map to a Kogan NZ category.
- Map From Content-Type - The Maropost category attribute to map to a Kogan NZ Category would be one of the “/_cpanel/content_types” attributes.
- Map From Custom Field - The Maropost category attribute to map to a Kogan NZ Category would be one of the “/_cpanel/miscfield_inventory” attributes.
- Category Attribute - This dropdown will change based on the “Categorisation Method” selected and based on what attribute is selected, this will be used to map to Kogan NZ categories.
- Description Attribute - Maropost description attribute to use when syncing products. Only applicable if you have a custom description attribute you want to use over the default one.
- In The Box Attribute - Maropost specification attribute to use when syncing products. Only applicable if you have a custom specification attribute you want to use over the default one.
- Name Attribute - Maropost product name attribute to use when syncing products. Only applicable if you have a custom name attribute you want to use over the default one.
- UPC Attribute - Maropost UPC attribute to use when syncing products. By default, we use the standard Maropost UPC attribute.
- Weight Attribute - Maropost weight attribute to use when syncing products. By default, we use the standard Maropost weight attribute.
- Default Product Location - Default country where products are located.
- Product Location Attribute - Maropost product location attribute to use when syncing products, to define where the product is stored.
- Shipping Cost Attribute - A custom Maropost attribute to get the product's fixed shipping cost from. If you don't have one, we'll use the Default Shipping Cost below when creating and updating products.
- Default Shipping Cost - A default shipping cost to apply to all products we create and update if your product does not have a Shipping Cost attribute. Leave this blank if you want to use the Kogan NZ shipping matrix. Set this to 0 to apply free shipping to all products by default.
- Default Handling Time (days) - A default handling time (days) if one is not specified against the product in Maropost.
- Virtual Stock Qty - The quantity to set on the marketplace for virtual Maropost products.
- Stock Buffer - If set, we will subtract this amount from the available stock quantity we import from Maropost.
- Price Group - Maropost price group to use when syncing the price. You can leave this empty and enable Allow Default Price Fallback to use the default price group. Noting that this could be the NZD price you want to sync to Kogan NZ or this will be a conversion based on Currency Conversion Mode / Base Currency settings applied.
- Allow Default Price Fallback - Whether to fallback to the product's default price when syncing products that do not have your selected Price Group. If false, we will raise an error instead of using the default price.
- Use Promo Price - Whether to sync promotional pricing from the selected Maropost price group, to Kogan NZ.
- Handling Days - This is based on the Handling Time defined against each product in Maropost.
- Kogan NZ Price - If you have a "Promo Price" set in Maropost for the Price Group selected in your Kogan NZ App settings and the "Promo End" is in the future, then we will send the "Promo Price" as the Kogan NZ sell price. Otherwise, we will send the "Price" as the sell price.
Order Settings
- Maropost Payment Method - The payment method to use when creating orders on Maropost.
- Maropost Shipping Method - The shipping method to use when creating orders on Maropost. Leave blank to not set any shipping methods during order creations.
- Order Status Mapping
- New Orders - The status to set orders on Maropost when the order we import is not yet fulfilled.
- Shipping Service Mappings - The shipment service mappings for order fulfillments. This is required so we can select the correct shipping service when fulfilling orders on the marketplace.
Notification Settings
Allows you to opt into receiving key email alerts that require action within the App.
- Notification Hour - When you would like to receive the daily email summary.

Order Sync Errors - Opt in to receiving a summary of all order errors between Maropost and Kogan NZ.
- Product Sync Errors - Opt in to receiving product error notifications when publishing to Kogan NZ.
- Mapping Errors - Opt in to receiving category mapping errors that requires action.
At any time you can unsubscribe to these notifications either within the App or via a link in the email.
Product Sync
From the left navigation, click on “Product Sync” to view the products downloaded from Maropost.
Once products have been downloaded from Maropost, click "Next" from the top right.
Products will only be synced if “Approved To Show On Kogan NZ” is set to approved in Maropost, so please complete this step first before proceeding with Category mapping.
Category Mapping
- Once all products are downloaded, click "Next" from the settings page.
- Here we will summarise all unique Neto categories across all products under the “Source Categories” column.
- For every “Source Category” click into “Select Category Mapping” to select the most appropriate Kogan NZ category.
- NOTE - Click on the source category will link you to all products allocated to this Neto category.
- Once all categories have been mapped, products will be synced to Kogan NZ.
Preview Products
- Once categories have been mapped you can click on the “Preview” link to review how products will look in Kogan NZ - This will include how product variants will be grouped and the category allocation.
- Under a product listing we also have two other tabs:
- Overview - If you want to review the payloads from Maropost and sent to Kogan NZ.
- History Log - Provides a summary of all updates from Maropost and how this then updated Kogan NZ. This is useful to see how stock has changed over time.
Exports
- This is to show the products we have attempted to sync to Kogan NZ - Either successfully or unsuccessfully.
Diagnostics
- This tab summarises the updates we receive back from Kogan NZ, upon product sync.
- Clicking into a specific error category will show what the issue is for resolution. Key ones being:
- Category missing.
- Attribute missing.
- No images
- No price.
Publishing Products
If you want to republish your products after a settings change, follow the below steps:
- Go to the “Settings” page, change the settings required and click “Save”. This will highlight a prompt on how you can republish your products with the reflected setting.
- Go to the “Product Sync” page and click on the “Republish” button.
- This will popup a warning for you to finally click the “Re-publish” button.
- This will sync all updates to Kogan NZ.
Note - There is a daily limit on how many times you can republish.
ORDER SYNC
Imports
- This will show all imports received from Kogan NZ and Maropost.
- Here you can also filter on a number of key attributes like Order # and order status. We also recommend to filter on “Integration” to see what has been imported from Kogan NZ or Maropost.
- Clicking into a specific order will show:
- Overview - If you want to see the last payload received from Kogan NZ to Maropost.
- History Tab - A summary of changes to the order over time.
- Listing - A simplified view of the order and items ordered.
Exports
- This will show all exports to Kogan NZ and Maropost.
- Here you can also filter on a number of key attributes like Order # and order status. We also recommend to filter on “Integration” to see what has been exported to Kogan NZ or Maropost.
- Clicking into a specific order will show:
